The 2013 Schrader ‘LPV’ Cabernet Sauvignon is a truly thrilling wine from this storied Napa winery. This is the third vintage of this wine made by the esteemed Thomas Brown. The wine was aged for twenty months in French oak and utilizes both clone 4 and 337 from the Beckstoffer Las Piedras vineyard. The ‘LPV’ benefits from about an hour of air, as the wine gains immediate appeal with its downright sexy bouquet of red rose petals that emerge alongside creme de cassis, tar, mocha and sandalwood. Soft and generous on the mouth, this silky wine effortlessly dances across the mid-palate. The plush, seductive texture gives way to gobs of dense dark fruits, with sweet pipe tobacco, tar and Turkish coffee flavors all marching on parade. Truly a scintillating wine right now, as this will age for decades to come. Drink 2020-2040- 97

Super dark purplish red and completely coats the glass. Dark nose with tobacco, cassis, perfume, black currants and sweet spices. Heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Layered palate with gravel, dark berries, leather, cigar box, sweet spices and solid minerality. Insanely long and a touch dry finish. Drink till 2030.

Deep purplish ruby red. A little mute on the nose to start with some savory notes, layers of dark black fruits, cinnamon and some minerality. Balanced acidity with heavy tannins (7.5/10). Full bodied with tons of dark and red fruit with some sweet spices too. Long and lingering finish. Needs a long decant. Drink till 2033.

Despite low professional ratings on release Id buy again at the appropriate price. Has Aged gracefully at this point. Probably the most feminine schrader as some call this style of wine. Reminds me of a Shafer.

Just a gorgeous Cabernet! Big and full of fruit. Velvety on the palate. Not overblown at all and just a pleasure to drink!

This wine is f—king opulent with a capital O. For a 2013, this wine was popped and poured and was amazing.
