1971 vintage. Last tasted 10.25.23. Top shoulder fill. Fairly saturated cork. Plenty of chunky sed during decanting. Evaluated over the course of an hour. Slightly prettier than the last visit but otherwise, consistent notes. Holding up well and for another 4-5 years. Drink ‘em if ya got ‘em. 12..21.23.

60% cab, 40 % cab franc. This wine is one of the reasons my father has such a high percentage of Cab-Franc planted at our Continuum vineyard. Beautiful, delicate with power and finesse ... flower petals, delicate fruit dominated by forest floor showing much more youth than a 43 year old bottle... Fermented (both primary alc and secondary malo) in tank then barreled down. This is a risky, un-integrating practice we no longer use and for good reason but to taste a wine that went through full malo in tank then barreled down and still have that much freshness is awesome...
