Double decanted and still needed almost two hours to start opening. Impressive dark fruit, mouth-watering acid, good depth and concentration. Nicely balanced and keeping the 14.8% abv in check. Can't wait to see how the rest is showing tomorrow night.

I'm not a Merlot gout usually, but this one is excellent!
Not too dry, big, finishes smooth.

Thank goodness after the last Merlot I tried (in a Merlot mood today) this is a vast improvement. Structured, more like a classified Pomerol in the nose with dark earth and spice. Big fruit and tannin, not peaked by any means. Very nice!

Sitting copilot in Return of the Jetta. I give 8.9 out of 10 wookies.

Big and intense, this needs more time! Sure, it's drinkable now, and you'll get loads of dark plums, berries, vanilla, and toast. I wonder if it will develop many tertiary notes, but it will certainly benefit from more integration.
