Randy Burleson, owner of Bistro by the tracks, is also a Zinfandel fan, so we hit it off and decided to have a Zinfandel Showdown! This is his first pick and he really picked a doozy. (Does anyone still use that word anymore?). The Rockpile area produces some great Zins, as I have sampled in the past. This is no exception. Dark and brooding, but not jammy. Nice complexity. He wins this round.
