Dark ruby red with fine sediment. Very well integrated on the nose and palate. Layered nose with notes of dark plums, sweet spices, earthiness and some light herbs. Medium tannins (5.5/10) and medium plus body. Plush palate with dark stewed fruits, especially plums, damp earth, dark spices, black fruits and a little gritty. Long finish. Drink till 2022.

I was led to believe that this was not a typical California wine. Silly me! Thick, Jammy, overextracted, and excessively alcoholic. If I want to drink Port, i'll buy port.
