16/20 (90/100)

Lost some of its acidity, round on the palette, butter, fugi Apple, and pineapple.

Notes of unsweetened honey, melon, lemon peel and touch of minerality and oak on the nose. The palate shows concentrated and layered notes of lemon curd, stone fruit, melon, crushed rocks and well integrated oak. This kept evolving in the glass with every sip. Long finish. Excellent!

Ditch the kids, go to the fridge and pour just a smidge of Montebello Ridge if you have an itch for rich Chardonnay.

Probably one of the most complex wines I've ever had! Nose of a well aged bourbon, with a great tropical flavor on the palate. Completed with a caramel finish that is insanely smooth and lasts seemingly forever! I'm a buyer!

2008 vintage. Medium lemon hue. Ripe lemon citrus, almond paste, oak wood, vanillin, hazelnut with hints of mango pieces. Pronounced aromas, and developing. On the palate, pronounced flavour concentration - riper in the mouth than on the nose. Lemon pieces, pineapple, vanilla essence, sweet spice, honey and a wedge of oak - but not distasteful. Pine resin apparent on the back of the palate. Medium acidity points to California as opposed to old world with the ripeness. Good finish. Round and fleshy. There is a salty character which is noticeable on the mid-palate. No astringency - almost sweet after taste. Very good over lunch.

Complex wine and very satisfying after a long drive back from Cape Cod. Pale gold color still young looking. Viscous on the palate from malolactic fermentation complemented by lively acidity. Complex fruit with some green apple coming through. Nice!
