Quite good but I was hoping for more from 2010.

Strutting its stuff at seven years, with a darker, riper, more exotic expression of the proverbial cherry, tar, and roses. Full-bodied and high tannin - but they're plush and velvety. Tastefully modern and hedonistic.

Solid Barolo, rustic yet soft and food friendly, great with lasagna!

Solid wine with pepper and oak notes. However, 2010 vintage was very short on the finish, and doesn't stay with you like you'd expect for a $50 bottle.

Awesome structure and complexity even at this youthful age. Can't wait to see how it evolves in time. Love this producer and their style.

Ratti Marcenasco Barolo. Smells like black fruit, anise, earth. Tastes like cassis, pine sap, rose hips. Tannins are forward but not overwhelming. Should have let this sit, but didn't/couldn't.

2010 vintage. Medium plus intensity on the nose of spices, mulberry, hints of cinnamon, violets and manure. Some tan leather developing. On the palate, tannins are prominent and chewy, medium plus acidity, medium bodied (slightly light relative to expectation), good concentration and nice finish - sweet fruit presence on finish. Very enjoyable and still plenty of room to improve. NB: with an hour in the glass, typical tar notes developing.

Wednesday Corinthia Hotel wine special. How lucky we are. Nice, smooth, light tannins.
