Rancho Sisquoc Tre Vini 2012. A blend of mostly sangiovese, 31% petite verdot and 15% petite sirah. Not a very extravagant nose but there is some nice red fruit, red plum and game notes to it, along with a pleasant palate that finishes soft and quick with cranberries being the major note. The finish has an iron quality reminiscent of blood. And on that note, happy red wine day everyone!

Not bad for an $18 bottle. Not very earthy or fruity but solid. Dark.

Drinkable food wine. Some tar on the nose and good acid makes it read Italian. Memorable? No. But a few bottles at a big dinner party--yes. Nicely made.
