Clear amethyst purple in the glass. Dark fruit and patent leather on the nose and palate (with some vanilla bean). Very fruit forward for an Old World wine. Medium low tannins. Dark medium long finish. Not sure that the used Pappy Van Winkle barrels have much discernible effect. I'm getting oak (American), but nothing particularly special. Solid.

Crowdpleaser and perfect match to pot roast. Ripe and juicy spiced sour cherry and raspberry framboise. Love it.

Fruit aromas of blueberry muffins and blackberry jam. Black maraschino cherries excel as aeration occurs. The American oak gives it soft and elegant toffee, coffee, and vanilla bean notes. A firm backbone of cigar, cracked black pepper, and toasted brown sugar keeps the oak grounded and equal to the fruit. Tannins are fine grained and firm. Some good complexity here. 50% Monastrell and 50% Syrah aged in used Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels. Definitely worth giving it a try.

Inky purple in the glass. This is a easy drinking fruit forward blend of Monastrell and Syrah aged in Pappy Van Winkle barrels. Sweet black fruit and vanilla predominate but are a bit too jammy for the long haul.

Was gifted a 2011 and loved it. Lovely medium bodied heavy berry. Don't normally drink Aust. But love this one. Superb label design as well.

Bought it for the story- aged in Pappy Van Winkle barrels. I'll buy it again for the taste. A beautiful bottle. The red blend is not overly dry...very rich in flavor with a port finish. Perfect with a pork tenderloin.
