Dark ruby in color with aromas of blackberry, plum, vanilla, and licorice. Plush, juicy, and fruit forward on the palate with medium tannins, medium acidity, and only 13.5% alcohol despite the particularly warm vintage. Blend of 81% Syrah, 9% Grenache, 8% Mourvedre, and 2% Tempranillo aged in mostly neutral French oak. Sourced from a number of different vineyards in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties including primarily French Camp in Paso Robles, Alamo Creek in a cool climate area in southern SLO County, Bien Nacido in the Santa Maria Valley, Sawyer Lindquist in the Edna Valley, and Ibarra-Young in the Los Olivos District of Santa Ynez. Consumed from a 375 mL bottled under a Stelvin screwcap.

This is a major league workhorse fastball befitting the modern age; this is a Gini Wijnaldum wine, elegant, robust, & uncompromising in its considerable effort to shape thought, space, and facilitate room to the work. Unsung hero, surprising in its inclination to balance, & delightful. Got all them savories, got them grit, got a streak of badger & delightful acid. Chuffed with this.
