Very impressive bottle of Burgundy, and all the more impressive considering that the '99 Damodes recently was very closed down. This one isn't closed down at all, brimming with dense, saucy red fruit, whatever oak was here fully integrated and the structure buried under all that saturating fruit. Most of this bottling comes from the Borniques vineyard I understand, which is a great little secret next door to Musigny and may account for some part of the voluptuousness here. This is still very young, but it's a beauty.
