Drunk at the end of day two opened, so hard to tell how impressions would tally with just-opened bottle. Nose by day two very open, expressive and fresh, though not obviously Pinot. Oak spice, earth and fruit mélange could have put me in mind of lightly oaked Barbera. Very brambly and pippy picture - blackberry, raspberry and cherry - then a forest fruit flood on the palate, with nice underbrush depth and gravelly tannins that really tuck it all it. Bright, generous and really long.

Sep 26th, 2014A big and sumptuous Pinot with all the hallmarks of Gippsland. For me, lacks the acid line to clean up the big fruit. I like the wine, it's Central Otago like in that it's bigger and firmer..... But for me it's got a ways to go before it's great.
