Benefitted from decanting and took about 20 more minutes to really open up but once it did there was beautiful fruit along with some funky earth and dried tobacco.

Piedmont Red Wine, this 2004 aged well (Feb. 2016). Needed time to open. Dry yet a fruit taste of cherry followed by tobacco and vans Lola ash.

Brandied cherries, soy sauce, balsamic, dried thyme, musk, wet rocks, iron, dried tobacco, cedar, green peppercorns. Perfect acid/smooth velvet tannin structure, gorgeous silky texture, long earthy, herbal, slightly smoky finish. Complex, yet refined and approachable. Highly evolves in glass.
