This could use a few more years.

My first wine since nearly lobbing my fingers off with the hedge trimmers, I can now add nose filling iron oxide to my
Olfactory notes.
Yet, not in this wine.
This one comes on so brett heavy in the nose, slightly brett funk in the pallet at first, then hints of crancherry pie. Long lingering bush fruit acids, with hardly any true wood tannins to describe. I would wait at least 5 years after the vintage date. I was hoping to get lucky twice..
it’s also quite interesting how our common exposure to brettanomyces now has no longer deemed it a flaw, yet can allow it to be part of the wine and experience now..

What a great value Rhône blend! Complex. Structured. Not too fruity but not too tart or funky. ...more than our average bottle, but a great alternative to a heavier varietal when you still want a complex red! Wild berries jam with lots of tannin makes it best with food, but good on its own! Better I’d guess in another year. Clearly trying to show off the grape with limited oak exposure. Would like a bit more finish. (70-80% in steal). (Mid $30’s.)

Brett jumps out in the nose and is very present on the finish. The entry is very nice and I like the mid mouth complexity but find the Brett distracting

Blackberry, clove, anise, plum and black tea. A lithe and fresh Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

Deep ruby hue. Black cherry, ripe plum, dried prune and fig jam on the nose, balanced with barnyard, saddle leather, anise, licorice, dark chocolate and nutmeg notes. Grenache (60%) and Syrah (40%). Southern Rhône blend that’s dark, full-bodied, fruity, and spicy. Noticeable heat. Vintage 2015. ABV 15%.
