Just opened it, quick, ten-minute decant. Classic, opulent Paul Hobbs. Fruit just teems from the glass. I'm officially on Yumville with every evolving sip. 2011, so far, is a comeback. And in a big and welcome way..

Clear, med ruby color with watery rim and legs. Med + body, med acid, med + alcohol, med - tannin, med + flavor intensity of black cherry, crushed raspberry, cola, ripe cranberry, black tea leaves and a hint of vanilla from the new oak with a long finish. Aromatic and very enjoyable, but the alcohol did stick out a bit. 14.5 abv.

Rich, lush, cherry-forward - characteristic of Russian River Pinot, but tastefully executed. Very solid showing.

Better than expected. Bright fresh red fruit. Deeper red color than most pinots.
