Very spicy attack with pepper and roasted herbs. Underneath there's dark red fruit. Very compact and jammy, like it's been canned. Age is evident. Thick but polished tannins. Like fine sand. Fruit is pretty laid back. It's there but not in your face. Slight perfume after a while. Finish is balanced but not super long.

A much more modern style. Higher extraction, deeper color, ripe and approachable now.

What an amazing wine. Anise, rose petals, pine needles, morello cherry, and a gorgeous freshness. No hurry to drink, but it showed great!
