Tremendous purity of fruit and the pinnacle expression of the Howell Mountain AVA in my opinion.....the winery also has one of the most spectacular views in the valley. This was opened Friday night and rested at cellar temp until tonight. A dense structured wine with characteristic mountain fruit sweetness and perfumed bouquet. Layers and waves of rich dark fruit persist through a lengthy, concentrated, mouth coating, gorgeous finish. Damn--this is evolving beautifully.

On the nose and on the palette, this is focused and intense.
You can tell from the nose that this is a pure cab. It display ultra-ripe fruit, combined sweet barrel toast, which are not overdone.
The palette is polished and pristine. Syrop du cassis, caramelized black fruits and smoke present in harmony. Tannins are somewhat integrated, but still ripe, while the acidity provides another source of complexity. It's extremely dense and compact, with a beautiful finish. A textbook expression of place (Howell Mountain), this bears all the hallmarks of greatness.
@David A Lentine gifted this crown jewel to wifey and I. We are forever in your debt - thank you.
