Fairly bright acidity. Good fruit. Maybe lightly oaked. Well rounded Spanish rioja. Well worth the 10 bucks

Today's #atlasofwine, with special guest Juniper, comes from Rioja. This isn't my favorite of the Love Over Money set--I really love Evolucio furmint and Blaufrankish--but it's consistent in its delivery of varietal for value.

A Rioja (DOC) blend, non-vintage and it was really rather good. A hit at the party I brought it to.

2013. Fruit forward, new world tasting but with a nice sharp backbone to stop fruit being cloying. Interesting marzipan notes. Finishes quite peppery. For ten dollars this is really quite a nice change from the fruit concoctions which claim to wine in this price range. I will buy again. Good value.

Wine was good but not great. Much more like an American Syrah than a Spanish Rioja
