Montevertine
Il Sodaccio Di Monte Vertine Toscano Sangioveto Canaiolo

Getting even better as is opens up. Tobacco, cedar, iron/rust and a bit of cherry still hanging around. Neat 20 year of bottle. Has lost some of its color and the cork almost came out whole. Very smooth and enjoyable.

Drank 2h17 to 1Q18. I found it at a local store in dallas 2H17, for $30-$40. Bought all 8 bottles on a gamble. No idea how it was stored for the 19yrs, but it was very good. Held up well. The cork was an issue, but nothing a sieve couldn’t handle.

Jan 21st, 2018Med intense aromas of red apple skin, still bright red cherry aromas, hint of tabacco and spice, hint of oxidized notes with hint of creamy aroma. Med body, med plus acid, med intensity, this wine surprisingly keeps its freshness, very smooth on the palate, long deliful finish with red apple skin, hint of yogurt and blackbolive juice. Subtle, elegant blend that can enjoyable for just meditaion.
