Love this classic style Sonoma Chard. Good acid to go with the double mal.

I so rarely drink any Chardonnay with noticeable oak (this was 22% new French) that it always sticks out to me. This is minimal, and well-integrated, mixed with a bit of vanilla, stone fruit and citrus. With backbone. A very good food wine, I should think.

This is a wine that can't really make up its mind what it wants to be, trying to straddle a line between a Meursault-style white Burgundy and a more assertive California-style chardonnay. The result isn't bad. But it's far from great.
