Les Suchots Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Red fruit, good minerality, salty. To be really great the finish should be a bit less austere. GC quality.

Decant first minimum 45 minutes and the initial austerity goes away. Never understood why this is less grand cru than e.g. echezeaux.

Lovely spicey nose but quite austere. Opens slowly in the glass. Very firm tannins.

Ouvert et bu sur le champ le vin est assez strict et peu ouvert au début. Mounir m’aurait sûrement rappelé qu’on ne sert pas ses vins PnP d’un millésime si jeune. L’air lui a fait un grand bien... après 1 heure le vin s’était ouvert, très sur le fruit et ca pinotait à fond. Le vin était d’une belle rondeur et tres charmeur avec un leger côté épicé en fin de bouche.

GL Burgundy tasting 3/7/17. Only producer aging with no racking for 24 months and no sulfur. $189. Darker red color and darker red fruit and more savory notes on the nose. Palate is complex and again with bite and minerals and fruits and long complex finish with tingling notes. In between two grand cru with more clay. Getting advantage with global warming due to deeper soil. Power s and finesse. Very straight wine.
