Wednesday Wine Committee and what a fantastic line-up by John! Typical format of 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert wine. All tasted blind.

One of the best 2011s I’ve ever had. Morlet is the winemaker. Wow! Nose almost smelled like American oak was used...not sure if any was or not. Entire fruit spectrum, nutmeg, cocoa, with a lingering finish that was almost mint like. I guessed 10-yr old Ridge Monte Bello...high praise!

A great offering from Luc Morlet in a tough vintage from my favorite small vineyard. Dark fruits with a soft tannin finish with hints of anise and tobacco.
