Grenache is fairly new to me but it's a grape I need more of. Dried strawberries, grapefruit and licorice. Tobacco flavors as well. Nose that speaks figs and prunes. Full alcohol. Grenn-osh me if you will.

Second red from Lightning Wines. Medium ruby red. Definitely more aromatic then the Chevalier Family Grenache. Mildly savory with notes of lavender, lilac and dried blueberries. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) with a medium body and balanced acidity. Soft black cherries, white pepper and finish of red cherries and minerality. Slightly savory undertones too. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2028.

30% whole cluster fruit with 30% saignee taken off of all the open top fermentors. Aged for twelve months in neutral barrels and gets an additional ten months of aging in the bottle.

The first cut is the deepest. The second was much more mild. Slightly spicy with a bite like a Russian poodle. This one needs about a 15-20 minute breathing period. Okay, but there's a lot better at this high price point.
