Floral nose, like fresh pansies complete with soil.

Soft, cherry filled, lavender jelly, heavier bodied wine with just that easy going attitude.
Not too exciting, yet I like the producers.

The Halos de Jupiter label never fails to impress me! I confess, I didn't have high expectations for this southern Rhône wine since it was under $15 (on sale). It is smooth with a bite from the alcohol, just like I would expect. With 80% Grenache, you get the red cherry and a bit if earth. There is some black fruit (black cherry/ripe plum) and green bell pepper too.

It is a versatile wine that I can imagine serving with any roast and is elegant enough for a dinner party. I would serve this with a Mediterranean spiced leg of lamb, burgundy beef tips/mushrooms, pork loin, turkey, crown of pork with chestnut stuffing, roast duck, or boar. See, I told you this was versatile! I should stock up, great bargain bottle to have on hand!

Not sweet, just smooth, no bite. Pleasant and easy to drink. Not thin but not to thick.

80% grenache 20% carignan. Very fresh red fruit, some earthy spice with nice raspberry finish.
