Les Cailloux (Lucien et André Brunel)
Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhône, Rhône, France
Young with lingering tannins but showing nice wild blackberries, herbs and anise. Needs a few years to soften and come together.

Nice nose full of bright red and blue fruits with underlying spice/ Tobacco. Still tight from youth but well balanced and persistent.

Oct 30th, 2016The 2012 could use a few more years indeed but it has nice promise. Still quite delicious; tannins don't overwhelm, and it's softening nicely.

Stewed fig and dark, round fruit. Delicious now, but I'm guessing will get more complex with a little age.

Jan 18th, 2016Very nice, especially for a young CDP. Great acid, earth and fruit, and well balanced - no alcohol bomb here. Needs food and good with some air.
