Delectable, read the damned label. It's the petit Verdot. Not Zin, and not cab Sauv, and not a Sauv blanc. Read the damned label for once! This is the 2010 Napa Valley Petite Verdot. An amazingly rich and flavorful wine. Nose is really big with blueberries, black berries, plum, baking spices, cigar box, and forest floor. Palate is the most port-like I've experienced. Earthiness balanced against bright acidity. More nutmeg and a bit of sweet garam masala brought on by the ripe grapes and the chewy tannins. Long, gorgeous finish. This wine is perfect for a powerful cheese plate...not as sweet as a port, but just as dominant. Beautiful.
