Reception pour at the Jean-Michel Cazes dinner.
On the nose; sweet & sour cherries, strawberries, under ripened tangerines, black cherries, brioche, nice volcanic minerals and red & pink roses.
The body is rich. Sweet & sour cherries, strawberries, under ripened tangerines, black cherries, ripe rhubarb notes, more brioche than the nose, seashells & oysters, nice volcanic minerals and red & pink roses.

This vinous, dry rose is packed with great minerality and serious, bracing red fruit. It is aged on the lees on a cork rather than a crown cap, so the cork we popped out was the 2nd one the bottle had. Le Brun de Neuville uses exclusively Bèthon fruit for this, and they get my vote for the best cooperative in Champagne.

Needed an hour of air. Strawberries with a hint of cream, Himalayan salt, brioche, cherries. Really lovely with nice acid on the finish.
