Bright syrah character, a little meatiness and earthy character. Big gripping palate, sneakily high alcohol, can definitely develop w some age

Almost cologne on the nose, so fragrant. Dense bramble berries, tobacco, leather, Chinese 5 spice. Great blend is Syrah, cab, and petit Verdot!

This is the L’Aventure 2012 Optimus Estate (stephan vineyard). This wine definitely surprised me. I bought this at the winery several years back. I liked it then but I love it now. I decanted it out of the bottle just for a little bit. Maybe another 40 mins in the glass. Right off the bat reminds me of Pride. A good pride. It’s a good blend of dark rich wine and fruit. Really smooth. There is a dark fruit or veggie that I can’t Identify.

One of my favorite Paso Robles cabs. The 2012 just rocks. I can't keep my hands off it.
