Intriguing as was described by a local wine merchant as not attracting enough American drinkers so importers were dropping from their portfolios. I can see why: it’s subtle, with green tones to wildflower, avocado pit, and unripe white peach. A broad minerality on the palate with good intensity. The best analogy is that it’s relationship to Gruner Veltliner is like Aligote to Burgundy Chardonnay— a lesser cousin, but still delicious in its own way when made right, which this is. I would revisit, especially since under 20$.

Pure minerals, not much fruit. On the nose a slight peach and orange blossom with a bitter almond note. In the mouth, more bitter almonds, lemon pith, liquid rock and a touch of heat on the back end. Good acid. Interesting wine. Has a bit of restrained power.

Shows more complexity and concentration than most Gruner Veltliners, with brighter acidities. Devoid of any hint of mechanical quality many Whites from Austria/Alto Adige suffer from. Might not have the reserve power to go long distance.
