The 2012 Vine Hill Chardonnay is very restrained. It is pale yellow gold with yellow green tents. Aromatically it is very restrained with hints of pear and citrus but needs time to open up. On the palate the wine has not quite the acidity of the 2011 but the wines are strikingly similar in structure with a tiny bit more richness in the 12 versus the 11.

So this wine is tremendous and I'm glad it was a gift as I normally wouldn't spend this much on a bottle ... especially a white. But yeah this blew my socks off
