K.H. Schneider
Marbach Riesling

In the zone as they say. Nose is bitter apple, some white cherries, kumquat, herbal and stunningly mineral. So expressive and maybe a hint of petroleum. Great depth, minerals and huge dry extract but so nimble and fresh. Juicy and pithy with lots of fruit flesh that is more towards the pit than when you bite into the fruit. So pure and drinking insane out of the bottle. Wow, so elegant and complex now with air. Maybe a 9.6?

Delicious but a bit stunted. But better with 2-3 more years.

Nose has that almost creamy seamlessness. Some green apple skin? As this opens minerals from 1,000 year old apricot pits. Apricot flowers. Elegant. Intense Apricot perfume. REALLY pretty.
Palate is very mineral. Classic Schneider. Lovely.

@vinuous marbach spatlese riesling Needs an hour to open up. Then is a wonderful cross between the elegance of mosel Riesling and the tropicality of nahe Riesling. One it’s open the nose has that piercing mineral Riesling blast. Palate is Gern apple with a hint of tropicality. Classic nahe tropicality flits in and out of the nose. A fascinating drink. Should age well given the acidity. Bought from Fass Selections.
