From the family reserves. Left the cellar in July of 2014. Very impressive for the vintage & classic Drouhin.

Undergrowth and soil were my first impressions, yet it quickly blossomed in the glass as notes of crushed raspberry and hearty seared meat came to the fore. The bouquet continued to open, revealing floral tones with a slight vegetal-mineral note, yet all the while remaining fruit focused. It was soft and finessed on the palate, if a little short, yet there’s still so much to love with its fresh, sweet red fruits and minerality. Ultimately, this may even flesh out with more time in glass, but it’s so hard to resist right now. The finish was more like a whisper than a statement, yet delivering pure sweet cherry and inner floral notes that seemed to go on and on.
