This showed up at my door and I’m happy it did. J Vineyards continues to please me. There is a richness of aroma and lightness of body that pleases, much like me. Light and fragrant. Not really I rarely wear perfume because wine. But this wine is quite elegant. It’s the socialite who envelopes you in a tender hug and you get a whiff of their spicy perfume and a sweep of their velvet cape and a small thrill from interacting with them. Simple and pretty. Ps I don’t think I’ve ever hugged a velvet-caped socialite but I’ve been manhandled by cloaked goths who have been smoking cloves. Same diff?

Lush, ruby-red wine that vibrantly showcases firm, food-friendly acidity and plenty of black fruit flavors. Flavors of black currant, plum and tart cherry fill the glass. A kiss of earthiness makes this a perfect pairing with a mushroom soup.

I really enjoyed this wine. First experience with this brand, and found it delicious and smooth. I’ll definitely have to try it again soon to note the scents and flavors.

Very delectable, with a boozy aftertaste. Perfect accompaniment for an aged ribeye.
