Second tasting. Dense purple red, moderately extracted pigment. Weedy black currant notes in nose. In mouth black currant, butterscotch, mint and later cherry flavors emerges. Seed tannins in finish need time to aerate. Cherry cough syrup aftertaste. 148 cases made. Nice wine, well made, great varietal and local character.

Dense dark purple-red, highly extracted. Weedy minty buttery notes in nose. Blackberry, cherry and eucalyptus flavors initially , slightly hot, cherry cough syrup finish. Bitter aftertaste, moderate astringency. Flavors integrate and tannins soften somewhat after an hour - cherry, blueberry and blackberry flavors with length and a hint of mint-eucalyptus and black currant, with the tactile sensation of black pepper on the finish. Give this one an hour’s decanting before enjoying, a joy of a wine, well balanced and easy drinking, not remotely overripe but on point varietally in its expressive flavor profile. Plum flavors eventually emerge 2-3 hours after opening.
