Oct 16th, 2015A beguiling toffee-colored Trockenbeerenauslese-style Riesling hailing from the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. Perhaps the most astonishing aspect of this wine is that it was harvested at 51.7° Brix and with a staggering 31.7% residual sugar. Truly, this is the stickiest "sticky" I've had the pleasure of tasting, with mouth-coating viscosity held in check by bright acidity, against a backdrop of unctuous notes of furniture lacquer, honey, dried apricot, mandarin orange, and baking spice. #WBC15

Apple, melon, and citrus fruit, with flowers and honey. There's mild acidity and pleasant botrytis flavor. This has a whopping sugar content, but doesn't taste as sweet as it is. The sugar comes more in the heavy mouth feel and contributes to a nectary sensation. This comes from a field where this maker does a lot of late harvest wines, and this is their flagship product.
