I wanted a Beaujolais but struck out with the few available, so the guy at Grace's pointed me to this bottle for an easy fruity wine to enjoy with a washed-rind cheese for dinner. He nailed it. The nose is relatively reserved and cranberry-ish, but a sip reveals soft tasty red fruits and juicy acid, all folding into a rich fruit finish of dried tart cherries. Tannins are just enough to give texture on the palate and length to the finish, and--exactly as I had hoped--there is no aspect of tomato or vegetation in the fruit or acid. For $13 this is absolutely a wine I'd buy again when the mood strikes me.

Refreshing, not too sweet, great for a sunny day and a rainy day.

Dry wine, light bodied with well balanced tannin. Bright, fruit forward. Raspberry, dark cherry. Delightful for $10. Purchased at bottle buys.

Fall spice and a potpourri of dried dark berries. Wood is subtle and low acid. Drinks well alone, loved the anise finish.
