Spectacular effort. The wine meets you from the glass, confit cooked fruit with exotic spice, first impression is jam and not wine. Medium bodied with long burn. Is this the best Australian wine ?

From Shiraz vines planted in 1860, this may be the most expensive wine I've ever tried as well as one with the oldest lineage. Is it worth the price? I'm not sure you can put a price on such heritage - a century and a half in a glass. But anyone who doubts that Australian Shiraz can't rival the northern Rhône for complexity and longevity needs to get to Eden Valley and taste this wine.

My first Hill of Grace and was very excited to try it. A youngster, it showed a little tight but was what you would expect for cool climate Clare Valley Shiraz, peppery, crisp red fruits and crackling acidity. #hillofgrace #henschke

This wine was amazingly good but just a baby. This wine has years of life ahead of it. Decanted for 3+ hours.

Not a wine that I will actively seek out in the future but a wine that I will never forget. Aromatic AF.
