Cornas Syrah

Mineral and berries.

Drinking nicely. Shows plums, black pepper, licorice, with bittersweet chocolate at the end.

Wow. This is so nice. A very classic Syrah nose. Beautiful tannins complemented by the acidity.

This is a nice wine to say the least. Very aromatic, with great smooth tannins. Earthy and meaty on the palate in a great way. Really quite nice

Dark purple, black fruit, stronger body but still smooth and light for how strong it is. Delicious!

Still closed, needs 5+ years

Gordon's tasting 9/20/16. '12 even more open and more mature floral character and deep mineral character vs '13 but both are outstanding! Tannin prominent but almost silky. Graceful. Old la petit syrah strain not a modern clone. Very small berries and tightly packed clusters. 30 months fermentation not destemmed.

Young and rough

Superb. Deep saturating black fruit, olives, and granite. Even more expressive the next day. Top-notch, classic Cornas. More polished and civilized than, say, Juge or Verset, but still sinewy with a lot of tightly packed power.
