Great balance. Fresh, slightly herbal, lovey fruit. A beautiful wine strutting it's stuff now and should continue to evolve for another 5+ years

Jan 21st, 2014Ben smith from cadence is the winemaker here the vineyard sites ate some of the oldest in Washington the ciel du cheval vineyard a blend of 66 cab, 12 cf, 12pv, 10 merlot dark cherry and currant berry fruit with that distinct red mountain minerality fresh plowed earth. Very dense and rich on the palate with an array of dark currant cherry fruit with an array of thick minerality, rich fruit but has very good balance and a fresh finish fine tannins with layers of nuance through the finish. Finish 50+ most excellent.

Aug 16th, 2013Guess I'm not getting the high rating here - to me it was high on tanner and had a big alcoholic burn that never disappeared. Nice dark, dried cherry to it, and a hint of funk. 2004, with winemaker Ben Smith, 14.5 ABV.
