Papillon Crozes-Hermitage Syrah

Stunning for the price. Blind, my colleague and myself both called cote rotie. Very lifted floral aromatics with every color of peppercorn imaginable. Crushed blue fruited core with a savory charred bacon fat finish to it. I want a case!

Classic northern Rhone and a great value. Bright red berries with nice pepper and earth aromas. Light, juicy and refreshing.

These wines have so much N. Rhône character and are so easy to drink. Bright and juicy black fruits, lifted aromas of smokey bacon fat, violets/lavender, green olive, bay leaf, game, savory spice. Elegant expression of Syrah

Mid weight with plenty of plum and pepper.

Dark fruit & turned earth & wet stone plus that touch of grapefruit.

Would love to try this one again with a few years under the belt.

Classic Rhone Syrah. A potpourri of dried flowers with black cherry, allspice, crushed gravel and cherry cola. Terrific.

Dried rose petals, wet damp forest, mushrooms and artichokes... medium body, medium acidity and medium tannins... extremely balanced ... nice red and blue fruit and earthy flavours with a white peppers tingle on the finish... oh man this was fun!

Some dusty deliciousness going on with this one. Nice minerality and restrained fruits.
