This wine has the potential to be very good, but at only 10 years under Stelvin, it is still a baby. Makes one wish for a real cork. The nose is a very appealing funky and earthy mess of plums and black cherries. The wine is dark, about as dark as Pinot gets. On the palate, it is exuberantly lively. A piercing acidity leads into a sweet-tart cherry and red raspberry fruit profile. The finish is extremely long. This is a wine of great precision, yet one which has not yet shed its baby fat and one wonders if it ever will under the screw cap. The fruit and acid are still a bit disjoint and raw. Should age for years.
