Dark scarlet, mostly opaque. Deep nose. Notes of black cherry, cola, tea, dark soil. In the mouth it was rich and had a lot of power, but despite being open all day this was closed and not wanting to show much. Later in the evening some Barolo notes emerged including tea and some anise. We're told the fill was high and the bottle was in perfect condition... maybe this was still too young?
