Holy cow! It is true the oak on this is intense (after 2+ years in the barrel, go figure), but Jesus... This is mind blowingly good Syrah. Made by people that think tobacco is a seasoning and plums are for staining the inside of barrels (and your mouth). F'ing great wine!

Drank the last of our 09s tonight. Give this one time to breathe, it opens up quite nicely. Lots of dark fruit and pepper on this one still. Lovely wine.

Jan 9th, 2020Wow. The nose alone is incredibly delicious and earthy. I was not disappointed by the taste either. The longer you let these wines age, the better.

Slight vanilla nose with vanilla flavors and pepper. Some hints of leather in the finish. Laura doesn't like as much as the merlot or cab.
