A luscious Bordeaux style cab. I drank this with a friend who grew up in Europe and was a school trained chef. He was blown away with this 1995 vintage, proclaiming it the best California cab he had ever had, reminding him of high end, aged Bordeauxs. The nose is intoxicating and the taste is amazing, smooth and complex. The early 90’s Red Rose Hill cabs are some of the best wine I’ve ever tasted.

Nose of oily pepper with some pomegranate/cranberry fruit. Palate is big, with surprisingly grippy tannins for a 21-year-old cab, black pepper, and oak at the very end. This wine could age for another 10 years. Excellent expression.

Leather, cedar, tobacco, dark fruit. Complex and silky smooth. The finish lingers a long time. Heaven in a bottle.

Leather and tobacco on the nose; leather, pepper, and licorice on the palate; long pepper finish. On a blind taste I would probably confuse this with a well aged Rioja.

Wow. I'm breathless. So complex I don't know where to start.
