According to the label this is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira and Alicante Bouschet varietals. So here's to drinking off the beaten path! Amazingly tart and bright for 7 years of age and half a year of oak. Tart cherries on the nose and palate with loads of acid, almost bordering on citrusy. Notes of chocolatey roundness. Decently structured (though a bit rough) tannins, and an occasional soft buttery flash on the finish that's especially surprising considering how acidic it is. I'd love to try this with a year in new oak. Not bad at all, but really really bright and tannic.
