Slightly candied/honeyed nose, overripe strawberries, fresh cranberries and raspberries. Molasses and herbaceous notes on the nose as well. Some light barnyard notes, charcuterie and spice too. The palate sings more than the nose. Ripe cranberries/ red cherries and dried strawberry fruit. Some red licorice, musty earth/dried herbs and leather notes. Cinnamon and other spices linger. Great wine for the price!

Nice village wine. Not huge in terms of aroma, but there are pleasant scents of cherry sprinkled with crushed oyster shells and white pepper, mushroom and wet bark. I probably should have given it more time to open up, but it's all gone now. Austere at first, but very good on the palate, echoing the nose, with good balance and length. This is an excellent producer, so looking forward to trying some of the 1er Cru and maybe even Grand Cru offerings (but which are substantially more expensive).
