Initial nose after 10 minutes open is very hot, with hints of currants & dried fruit. After 40 minutes the alcohol fades revealing a nose of dark, ripe cherry with prune/light raisin. This is not an Amarone or ripasso but has some of the characteristics. On the palate there is a blast of beautiful dried fruit, rich and full. After an hour open the soft prune, currant fruit is evident and delicious.
This wine is peaking. Drink now or in next five years. Elizabetta Fanetti's traditional style is one I admire. Loved it!
