2016 vintage labeled Superiore and DOC, grapes from the Piedmont region. Medium bodied. Bright sour cherry flavor, red licorice aroma, very little tannin and a touch of herbs in the finish when first opened. This wine gets better as it rests. It gains body and tannin and is less bright. You would be lucky to have this as your everyday wine. The cherry flavor reminds me of a delicious wine from Pardas Cellars using the Sumoll varietal native to Catalonia.
