Migan Parcela La Habanera Vinos Atlánticos Listan Negro
The ratings this wine gets are clear evidence that people want their wine that they spent good money on to be good. This one, simply, is not. Let it breathe, they say. A bit of barnyard funk, they say. I’m willing to admit this appeals to *someone*, but I hate it. Completely Brett and undrinkable. “Breathing” up to 24 hours doesn’t help. Still smells like horse poop. All Brett. No redeeming qualities. I was going to save it for cooking, but why ruin good food?

Dec 24th, 2020As others have mentioned, give this Migan some time to breathe: there’s some barnyard funk on the nose (a bit of Brett?), coupled with tomato leaf. But lovely rhubarb, blood orange, raspberries on the palate. Terrific with seafood.

Jun 3rd, 2019Give this time to open up or decant, as it can be very funky on the nose.

Dec 10th, 2018Really tasty stuff from the Canary Islands, nose reminded me of an aged Côte Rotie. Peppers and spiced meats. @Viticole Wine Club
