Elusa
Kenefick Ranch Vineyard Cabernet Franc
Calistoga, Napa Valley, California, USA

Dark purple in color with a wide reddish rim.
Strong nose of black currants, black cherries, blueberries, light oak, spices, dark coffee, vegetables, bell pepper, black tea, herbs, tobacco leaf and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, blackberries, light cedar, licorice, earth, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, light vegetables, indian spices and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Franc from Calistoga in Napa Valley. Nicely balanced with lots of earth notes to compliment the fruits. Spicy and entertaining, elegant and smooth.
Not very approachable right out of the bottle, and needed 2 hours in the decanter to open up properly, so be patient.
This Single Vineyard Cabernet Franc is still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 8 years and see how it evolves.
Good by itself or with food.
100% Cabernet Franc grapes were aged for 22 months in (70% new) French Oak barrels.
14.8% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$150.
